Join a great team at our new location! The Rural Municipality of Estevan No. 5 is currently accepting applications for the services of a seasonal public works operator with potential for a permanent full-time position for the right candidate.
This is a seasonal position (April to October) dependent on weather and workload. The RM is offering the possibility of permanent full-time employment for an individual with the appropriate qualifications and skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Public Works Crew, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties under the direct supervision of the Manager of Public Works. Duties may include but are not limited to:
- mowing ditches/rights-of-way
- erecting signs
- assisting with minor maintenance and equipment repairs
- shop and yard maintenance
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum Class 5 driver’s license is required.
- Candidates must be able to perform the duties of this position in a safe manner.
- A current driver’s abstract and references will be required for those selected for an interview.
Desirable Training and Experience:
Preference will be given to applicants with experience and skills in the operation and maintenance of equipment including but not limited to:
- tractor/mower
- loader
- tandem gravel truck
- skid-steer.
- Grader operating experience and/or a Class 1A driver’s license would be considered an asset.
